WWE 2K24 Review: 9 Ups & 4 Downs

3. The Good Side To Showcase

There are downsides to the '40 Years Of WrestleMania' Showcase Mode, but that doesn't mean you won't have bags of fun ploughing through it regardless. So, what's good about Showcase, and why should you make it your first proper stop after playing a few exhibition matches and maybe creating a wrestler?

Honestly, it's a wonderful way to learn 2K24's controls, new mechanics and how the game works. 2K eased up on some of the in-match objectives this year - they're easier than ever to pull off, and you don't even have to tick off absolutely everything to reach those sought-after unlockables.

Corey Graves does a sparkling job of explaining the importance of each match and adding context while you're playing. His narration often splices with the real-life footage to give everything a nice zip. That makes it a real treat to experience legendary landmarks like Hogan vs. Warrior from 'Mania VI, Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon from 'Mania X or Steve Austin vs. The Rock from 'Mania X-Seven.

There's also a bonus right at the end of Showcase that was a nice surprise. We won't spoil that for you in this review though.
