WWE 2K25: 10 Gameplay Details You Need To Know
1. Slingshot Technology Is GONE

Showcase Mode is divisive.
The mode's slingshot technology is entirely off-putting.
Introduced in WWE 2K22's Rey Mysterio Showcase, the groundbreaking technological advancement seamlessly transitions players from the actual match to its digitised recreation through the power of cutscenes, however, its overabundance rendered the mode as a no-go for many. That's no more the case in WWE 2K25's Bloodline Showcase.
Dino Zucconi, a Showcase Designer on the game, discussed the reasoning behind stripping the mode back to feature fully digitised cutscenes, citing that 2K and Visual Concepts wanted the mode to have more playing and less watching:
"We wanted the emphasis on Showcase this year to really be more about playing than it is watching, and I think that was kind of what we were hearing the last few years. So this time, we want to really give it back to the player."
Further alterations to Showcase Mode include a new 'What If?' feature, allowing for up to three options in matches: complete the match as it occurred, switching the winner around a la 2K23's John Cena Showcase, or playing fantasy matches featuring members from what was described as "the extended Anoa'i family".
