2. Rise Of The Tomb Raider
An 'proper' exclusive for all of five minutes thanks to fans breaking down the walls for more details, the new Tomb Raider is a "timed exclusive" on Xbox One - although as of time of writing no one knows how long for. Regardless,
2013's Tomb Raider was a fantastic reboot of the character, as even though the cutscenes and general pacing leant a bit too heavily on beating the tar out of Lara for the sake of some forced character building, the whole thing played like as if Uncharted came with an in-depth an unlockable progression system. It's mostly the gameplay that makes everything pop here, as although the Definitive Edition's graphics look as thought they were programmed specifically for next-gen hardware (which is more than you can say for Final Fantasy Type-0), it's the perfected sensation of movement and control you have over Lara's abilities that let you tackle any situation with ease. Come the close of the game where you're dive-rolling out the way of enemy fire, gutting dudes with your pick-axe and embedding an arrow in any one else to slow them down - it became a very engaging system that with any luck will be thoroughly expanded upon going forward.
