Xbox One Backwards Compatibility: 10 Xbox Originals We Can't Wait To Play

5. Grand Theft Auto Trilogy

GTA III
Rockstar

GTA III and Vice City would see their Xbox debuts in the Double Pack in 2003, while San Andreas would hit the console in 2005. Grand Theft Auto games would hit the Xbox about a year after it would the PS2, but this meant that the Xbox versions would feature improvements over the PS2 versions.

For instance, the Xbox versions feature custom soundtracks with improved audio, polygon models and tweaked graphics.

Indeed, Grand Theft Auto is a juggernaut of a series today, but it's easy to forget that momentum truly started back in 2001 with the release of Grand Theft Auto III. Yes, there were titles in the series prior, but it was the change to third-person 3D with GTA III that rocked the world.

It's insane to think that these three games were also all released from 2001-2004. Over the course of these three years, Rockstar consistently delivered award-winning games and who knows what games of this type would even look like if it weren't for the release of these three games.

We don't need upgraded graphics, we don't need updated anything. All fans want is the ability to play these three games on the Xbox One. There's no doubt that Rockstar could even sell the Trilogy collection for a hefty price and fans would still pay to play it on their Xbox One - especially if they threw in achievements.

Even if we were only given one of the three, it would be chalked up as a win.
