Xbox One X: 10 Critical Reactions You Need To Know
3. It's Impressively Quiet
"Hooking up Xbox One X to a 4K HDR display (we tested with a mid-range Panasonic DX750 and an LG OLED B6) and booting up Gears of War 4, what's immediately apparent is that, with our review unit at least, this console is eerily quiet...It would be remiss of us not to mention that, as quiet as the console is under load, it's even more discreet when running in its various backwards compatibility modes." - Eurogamer
"It’s also as remarkably quiet as the One S, even when it’s working hard, and never got warm enough that overheating in a confined space would be a concern." - IGN
With so much being packed into such a relatively small box, it would've been no surprise at all if the One X ended up sounding like a jet engine, especially with so many reports of the PS4 Pro being overly noisy.
As it stands, early reviews suggest that the One X is whisper-quiet to the point that it's honestly unsettling, especially considering the sheer amount of processing magic that's going on underneath the hood.
However many souls Microsoft sacrificed to make this work, it was totally worth it.
