Xbox Scarlett: Every Major Rumour & Leak You Need To Know
3. Both Systems Will (Probably) Be Announced At E3 2019
Though the Scarlett systems aren't expected to launch until over 18 months from now, early reports indicate that Microsoft is planning to announce them early in order to pip Sony to the post.
E3 2019 has been the most commonly-whispered reveal date and understandably so, given both Sony's absence from this year's show and Microsoft's clear opportunity to dominate the headlines unopposed.
Considering that Microsoft gave the Xbox One X a soft reveal of sorts almost 18 months before its eventual release, it wouldn't be out of character, even if it's unlikely we'll get detailed, concrete specs or a definitive price point during Microsoft's conference this year.
Still, getting out in front of Sony and promising a full blow-out later in the year or in early 2020 is definitely a smart way to go, especially with the Xbox One basically limping its way to the end of the generation (in terms of AAA exclusives, at least).
