Xbox Vs PlayStation: Ranking EVERY Launch Line-Up From Worst To Best
5. Xbox 360
Launch Date: 2005
Notable Games: Call of Duty 2, Kameo: Element of Power, Condemned: Criminal Origins
The 360 era is by far Microsoft's strongest console run. It managed to break major ground by transitioning multiplayer, FPS gameplay, and western RPGs - all trademarks of the PC gaming arena - to modern consoles.
Their main appeal was an affordable price, refreshing approach, and an earlier release date than the competition. Plus, their console line-up was pretty solid too.
Amongst strong racers & sports games (Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Madden NFL 06), they brought COD to consoles for the first-time (Call of Duty 2), managed to make a GREAT movie license tie-in (Peter Jackson's King Kong), and released a grimy cult classic (Condemned: Criminal Origins).
While their attempt at showcasing their new first-party relationship with Rare was a bust - Kameo, was a passable cartoony combater, Perfect Dark Zero, was beyond disappointing - there was enough, to make gamers feel they were truly entering the next-generation of gaming on day one.
