Zelda: Link's Awakening - 10 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit

1. It's Not A AAA Zelda Title

When you think 'Legend of Zelda', you will no doubt immediately start picturing Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess or Breath of the Wild... maybe a few envisioning Termina Field but no one is thinking of Crescent Island, Skyloft or Koholint Island right away - you make a beeline for the AAA titles and you know it.

So, with this in mind, you have to ask why Nintendo blew the dust off of Link's Awakening to be remade. Maybe it was a quick turnaround for the developers, maybe they were worried we'd have had enough of Ocarina of Time but the likely answer is that it was just different and exciting enough to keep players interested whilst Breath of the Wild 2 continues to gestate.

For the most part, it's okay. Returning players will have their irritations alongside nostalgic enjoyment and new players will have discovered yet another part of the franchise's rich history but it isn't one of the series' greatest hits no matter how much it influenced future games.

Truthfully, the fanbase would likely have been happier to be given the entire back catalogue, in their original forms, on Virtual Console so fingers crossed Nintendo are paying attention and we can put this one behind us as A+ for effort, C for execution.
