A good slasher film can often take place in and around a particular time of the year, with the likes of Halloween and My Bloody Valentine being among the most obvious ones. Then, of course, there are the Christmas killers, a category in which Silent Night, Deadly Night falls.

While the aforementioned Halloween franchise, as well as Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and others are infamous for their ridiculous amounts of sequels, Silent Night, Deadly Night may have flown rather more under the radar.

The original saw a remake in 2025 that ended on a clear tease that there was more to come, but surely it can't be expected to reach the quite ridiculous levels of four sequels in five years running from 1987 to 1991.

Like some on this list, after the first sequel (Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2) bombed at the box office, bringing in just $154,000 against the $2.5 million of the original, the next two were released straight-to-home-video. And even in the face of no cinematic runs for these other follow-ups, it doesn't help that they are simply terrible films with no real connections to the original.
