10 Famous Actors Who Tried To Be Musicians (And Hilariously Failed)

They may be talented both in front of and behind the camera, but on stage they're dire.

The world of entertainment is rife with actors who, after achieving a certain degree of fame, just couldn't avoid the lure of furthering their "brand" by jumping ship to the world of music, and though there's a shed-load of examples that actually worked (such as Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Viggo Mortensen, Jared Leto and Juliette Lewis), often actors end up churning out vanity projects because of their wealth and fame without having any discernible musical talent. Simply, they do it just because they can. It's sage advice to master one craft before diving into another, though a number of these actors can't even profess to have perfected acting yet. Their have-a-go attitude is admirable to an extent, but without their millions of dollars and familiar faces, they'd be relegated to recording themselves on a laptop in their garages like the rest of us, where the majority of these 10 actors' output should probably have stayed. Still, many of them continue to play in spite of little critical or commercial success, simply because they're wealthy enough to take the hit regardless. Whether they actually made money with their musical endeavours or not, from a creative standpoint these actors just couldn't measure up in the realm of music, and they will hopefully have realised that fact by now, saving everyone an extra headache or two. Here are 10 actors who tried to be musicians and hilariously failed.
