10 Most Underrated Blink 182 Songs

1. Stockholm Syndrome - Blink-182

When you look back on all of the hell that went into making Blink's self titled record, the fact that it actually sounds good is honestly a miracle. Since the band was drifting to different parts of their sound, songs like I Miss You and Always becoming some of the best songs of their career feels like a happy accident. Aside from Tom's flirtations with alt rock and space rock, there's one thing that both that and pop punk have in common: twisted love affairs.

From the opening notes, all of the pop part of pop punk is gone and their foot is planted firmly on the gas, especially with Travis keeping everything tight with a mammoth drum performance. The tradeoffs between Mark and Tom are also a sight to behold here. Although the call and response thing may have felt forced in the past, it feels a lot more tasteful here.

You have Tom playing the role of unbridled anger with his screams and you have Mark trying to keep a level head before absolutely erupting in the bridge. Also, you owe it to yourself to listen to the interlude before this, which sets up a lot more context for the story that's about to go on with the woman's narration. This isn't just the punk boy-next-door guys anymore. These are men who have hit their breaking point and are completely adrift.
