After being unhappily drafted to The Baltimore Colts in 1983, Elway publicly used his promise as a baseball player as a bartering chip to get out of his contract with the team. After the media meltdown, he arrived swiftly in Denver as one of the most anticipated signings in the history of the NFL. The Broncos wouldn't ever be the same for knowing him.

Elway racked up some of the highest stats in league history (51,475 passing yards, 3407 rushing, 300 TDs) and had a penchant for dramatic 4th quarter comebacks, leading the Broncos to 5 Super Bowls - picking up 2 victories (one of which at the age of 38; a league record), before bowing out gracefully.
