10 Best One-Club Men In Football History

4. Francesco Totti

When you think of football's one-club men, usually the first name that comes to mind is that of Francesco Totti. His success on the field is mirrored by the abundance of names he's been known as in Italy, including "The Golden Boy", "The Big Baby", "The Captain", "The Eighth King of Rome" (a tad dramatic...) and "The Gladiator". It takes some feat of accomplishment to achieve virtually every nickname under the Italian sun.

This feat of accomplishment is a 25-year career with Roma, boasting 707 appearances and 250 league goals, making him the second-highest Italian league scorer of all time. It goes without saying this tally sits him at the top of Roma's goal scoring and appearances list, but frankly when it comes to Roma and Totti, there are not many lists the five-time Serie A Footballer of the Year doesn't top.

Combining ball control, passing finesse, vision, versatility and natural goalscoring ability, Totti's pure talent must have attracted attention from some of Europe's big boys, but just like Maldini, leaving his boyhood club and city never seemed an option. After his 1992 debut, who'd have thought Roma had (apologies in advance for this) 'gotti' such a 'hotti' in Totti. Swiftly moving on...
