10 Brutal Times Footballers Got Their Revenge

7. Patrice Evra V Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez is never too far from controversy. After biting an opponent not once, not twice, but three times, the Uruguayan added the offence of racism to his long list of misdemeanours.

To make matters on the pitch even more intense, his victim, Patrice Evra, happened to be playing for Suarez and Liverpool's bitter rivals Manchester United at the time.

But then, following an eight-match ban as punishment for Suarez, Evra refused to shake his counterpart's hand during the Red Devils' 2-1 victory over the Anfield outfit in 2012. And to rub salt in the wounds further, the left-back overzealously celebrated in front of Liverpool's star striker.

The Frenchman has since made peace with the striker, calling him 'the best number nine'.
