He's almost a forgotten man at Old Trafford and remembered more for his run in the first-team at Leeds United, but Alan Smith does indeed have himself a Premier Leauge winners medal.

Smith made the controversial move to Old Trafford back in 2004, with Alex Ferguson making his move for the Elland Road hero after Leeds found themselves out of the Premier League.

A visibly emotional Smith clearly never really wanted to leave his boyhood club, but at the time he knew a move was needed for the good of his domestic and international career.

It proved a successful decision overall for Smith, who got his hands on the Premier League title in his third and final season at Old Trafford in 2007.

Smith's time with United was hampered by a horrific ankle injury which all but wrote off his second season with the club, but he bounced back with his title win, before helping Newcastle United win the Championship a few years later.
