10 Hardest Players In English Premier League History
4. Stuart Pearce
Sometimes players gain a notorious reputation for a plethora of different traits. These are usually things such as fighting, fouling and frivolously goading one another. Then there's this geezer. Stuart Pearce - or 'Psycho' as he's predominantly known - was an English national who played for a variety of English clubs but is probably known to more these days as that timid looking guy from the Sky Sports panel.
Those who witnessed his rambunctious rage back in his heyday though would never be able to consider this nutcase as such a dormant bloke. Instead, his nonchalant passive aggressiveness paints a picture of a man who would genuinely put himself in harm's way just for the sake of his team prospering - even if it was in the smallest perceivable way.
Never was this proven more than when this menace had broken his leg during the first half of a match against Watford. This sort of story would traditionally end there. Not when it comes to the Premiers League's resident psychopath though.
Unbelievably, Pearce actually attempted to run this injury off before being taken off at half-time. This isn't to say that he learned his lesson though as just six months later he would re-perform this same routine when it occurred once again! Psycho might be too light of a word at this point...
