Gate: $6,901,655 UFC 148 was always going to be big PPV seller, but very few anticipated that it would break a million sales. The first fight had been one of the most intriguing in the history of the middleweight division as Anderson Silva a man who had hitherto in his UFC career looked unbeatable was dominated for four-and-a-half rounds before catching Sonnen in a triangle armbar combination and once again validating why The Spider is considered one of the sports greatest of all time. The first round of the rematch went much the same as the first. Chael was once again able to take Silva down and prevent him from unleashing his dangerous barrage of strikes. However, when Chael lost balance after throwing a spinning backfist which he likely still regrets to this day, Silva was able to smash him with a knee to the chest before going in for the kill and securing the TKO in round two.
