In the main event, Forrest Griffin €“ who had always appealed to casual fans after his TUF days €“ would attempt to defend his light heavyweight belt for the first time against fellow Ultimate Fighter winner Rashad Evans. Rashad was able to use his excellent striking skills to catch Forrest in the third round to get the TKO win and become the newest 205-lb champ. The fight would also win fight of the night honours. The card also featured a bout between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Frank Mir. Mir became the first man to stop Big Nog via second round TKO. Pride legends Quinton €˜Rampage€™ Jackson and Wanderlei Silva would complete their trilogy of which the Brazilian had won the first two fighs by KO. Rampage was able to give his old rival a taste of his own medicine with a thunderous first round KO.
