South Korea head into the 2018 World Cup in very poor form, having lost four of their last six fixtures, being beaten by the likes of Northern Ireland along the way. The team that made it all the way to the semi-finals of the 2002 World Cup are heading into their 9th successive tournament but have more often than not failed to get out of their group.

They may struggle once again this summer, finding themselves in Group D with World Champions Germany, along with Mexico and Sweden. Most of the South Korean players play domestically in their home nation, but a few individuals have enjoyed success abroad, notably Tottenham's fantastic forward Son Heung-Min.

Son will be carrying much of the weight of his nation's expectations at this World Cup, having scored 21 goals in 67 appearances for South Korea, but the likes of Ki Sung-Yueng and Koo Ja-Cheol will be there to shoulder some of the burden.
