If you're an MMA fan, love him or hate him, you have got to be rooting for Conor McGregor to win his bout with Dennis Siver in January. McGregor is the UFC's fastest rising star these days, an Irish Chael Sonnen who can knock opponents out and has a better fashion sense than most of New York's fashion district. You can argue that he's talked his way into the big time, but no one in the UFC has been able to beat him yet, and he dispatched fifth-ranked featherweight Dustin Poirier with ease. Should McGregor win against Siver in January, he is likely to face Aldo, who after months of disparaging McGregor and calling him a court jester now seems willing to take the fight, no doubt because it has dawned on him that it will help his pocketbook - a frequent complaint of the champion in 2014.
