10 Players Who Probably Regret Leaving Spurs

9. Paul Robinson

He was already a full international and, when Leeds were relegated from the Premier League, he joined a plethora of stars in a mass exodus from the club. He had been voted Player of the Year by the Leeds United supporters' club in 2003. At White Hart Lane, Robinson cemented his place as England number one and made 175 appearances in total during his time at the club - 137 of those being made in the Premier League - and he was part of the team that beat Chelsea 2-1 in the 2008 League Cup final. That remains Robinson's only major trophy to this day. Robinson even scored for Spurs - a 95 yard free kick that bounced over the head of then-Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster. After a drop in form which saw him replaced by Radek Cerny as Spurs' number one for the remainder of his final season, Robinson moved to Blackburn Rovers in 2008 and his career went downhill from that point onwards. He hasn't played for England since, despite only being 28 when he moved to Ewood Park, and the club were relegated to the Championship in 2012, where they remain. Robinson recently missed more than a year of football with a back injury, only to return in January of 2014.
