10 Predictions For UFC Fight Night: Thompson Vs. Hendricks

10. Mickey Gall Vs. Mike Jackson

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHbfbZfW24k Weight Class: Welterweight Mickey Gall is looking to cash a magic ticket this weekend. It's a ticket to fight CM Punk this Summer, and for Gall, it represents a shot at the limelight and becoming the first man to fight - and potentially beat - the former WWE champion. Gall (1-0) earned his shot at Punk after winning his first pro MMA fight and (politely) calling Punk out, something that happened to be featured on Dana White's show Looking For A Fight. White gave Gall his wish, with the caveat that he fight in the UFC once first, and win. Gall's opponent, Mike Jackson, has been pretty much hand picked. He's making his pro MMA debut here, and wouldn't have a shot at the UFC were it not for the fact that the promotion needed an inexperienced fighter to match up with the still green Gall. According to a recent profile by MMA Junkie, Jackson works as a photographer for Legacy FC, a promotion that often feeds young talent to the UFC. He runs an MMA blog, and has a passion for the sport. Here's where things get weird: originally, Sherdog (pretty much the gospel of fight records) had a Mike Jackson listed as fighting Gall with an 11-10 record in MMA. That was soon switched to 0-0 Mike Jackson (and hey, it's a common name) - but the UFC's own website is listing Mike Jackson with a record of 11-10 and an upcoming fight against Gall. It gets stranger: Jackson claims he was told the winner of his fight earns a shot at Punk, but Dana White has stated on Twitter that only Gall gets to fight Punk - with a win. All of this makes for one heck of a mess in the end. So who wins? Assuming the 0-0 record is the correct one and Jackson is basically a part-timer being used to pad a record, Gall. Probably by submission, but with so little experience it's hard to gauge.
