10 Things That Have Happened Since NUFC Last Picked Up A Point

A lot has happened in the world since Newcastle beat Aston Villa on February 28th...

Saturday February 28th, 2015 - that is the date when Newcastle United last managed to make their supporters smile. A Papiss Cisse strike gave the Magpies a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at St James' Park and took them on to 35 points with 11 Premier League matches remaining - meaning that, with three months of the season left in which they could accrue a few more points, surely they were safe from relegation? Unfortunately, eight matches down the line and the Magpies are still stuck firmly on that 35-point mark, with John Carver's men having failed to even draw any of those games. Eight successive losses, a club record in the Premier League, have left Newcastle just two points and three places above Sunderland in 18th. By the time Newcastle take on Tony Pulis' West Bromwich Albion at St James' Park on Saturday, it will have been 10 weeks, or 70 days, since the Magpies last picked up a Premier League point. But what has actually occurred in those two-and-a-half months since Newcastle last gained a Premier League point? Well, here are 10 things that have happened since Saturday February 28th - when Newcastle United reached their current total of 35 Premier League points by beating Aston Villa.
