Jon Jones was warned twice during his championship fight with Glover Teixeira but the ref never took away a point. Imagine that, if you earn the opportunity to fight the best light heavyweight on the planet, he has the right to poke you in the eye twice before the ref will start taking away points. That means if he is smart, which we all know he is, he can poke you in both eyes with his incredibly long reach before you have the right to really cry about it. The point is the eye poke and the low blow are both in the rules, and you are allowed one or two without penalty. Does this mean they are doing it on purpose? Well, not necessarily. But if Jon Jones is telling us he wants to be the best of all time, maybe he should try being a little more accurate.
