3. Brazil Vs. Italy (1970, World Cup Final)

After their heroics against West Germany in the semi finals, Italy took on Brazil in the 1970 final. Brazil were boasting one of their finest ever vintage, and showed their class against a more sterile Italian side, blowing their opponents away with a fantastic display of attacking football in one of the World Cup's greatest final games.

Brazil opened the scoring in the first half when Pele headed in a cross on the 18 minute mark, but Italy got back on level terms toward the end of the first half. However, Brazil turned on the style in the second period when Gerson scored with a great 20-yard strike outside Italy's box.

A less spectacular goal followed for Brazil's third (the ball bouncing of Jairzinho), but for many, their fourth was the best ever scored in the World Cup. Several of Brazil's players passed the ball in the build-up play before Carlos Alberto rushed into Italy's penalty box to blast home Pele's inch perfect pass. The match ended 4-1, and Brazil lifted the Jules Rimet trophy.
