6. Gylfi Sigurdsson (£6.5m)
Having joined Reading on an Academy scholarship in 2005 and spent time on loan at lower-league clubs like Shrewsbury Town and Crewe Alexandra to gain first-team experience, Gylfi Sigurdsson is well accustomed to all levels of English football. The Icelander signed for Hoffenheim in 2010, winning the clubs player of the year award in his first full season, as he had done at Reading, but after falling down the pecking order he moved on loan to Swansea in January 2012. Sigurdsson flourished in the Premier League, scoring seven league goals and making five assists to help the Swans secure their newfound status in the top flight and inevitably garnering attention from higher-placed clubs. Tottenham brought him into the fold for 2012-13 but Sigurdsson suffered from being played out of position, often on the wing, and turning out for a team in a state of constant flux. Swansea re-signed their former player in July, and he has never looked back. Why You Should Sign Him The numbers dont lie Sigurdsson is clearly happy to be playing again at the Liberty Stadium and has four assists and a goal to his name already. In his brief spell at Swansea in 2011-12, he bagged an impressive 102 points and he is at 29-and-counting this season. Back in the number 10 role he craves, the Icelander is an affordable £6.5m and you should get him while hes still relatively cheap.
