3. Only Two Founding Teams Survive In Their Original Form
Only two of the NBA's 11 founding teams still exist by their original name and location today. A major criticism of the league (and professional American sports leagues) in general, is the tendency of owners to uproot their teams and move to an entirely different city. Even the LA Lakers, the second most successful team in NBA history, are an example of this, having actually originated in Minneapolis. The two surviving originals are the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics, a pair of franchises who certainly benefitted from a large target audience and cities with an ingrained and passionate sporting culture.
