2. Over 69 Years, Only 18 Different Teams Have Won A Championship
The NBA is an incredibly hard league to triumph in, as proven by the statistic that only 18 different teams have won at least one championship. The latest to join this rather exclusive list were the Dallas Mavericks in 2011, having come agonisingly close five years prior. The inaugural champs were the Philadelphia Warriors, winning the 1946-7 season by defeating the Chicago Stags in the first ever final. In those days the league was known as the BAA (Basketball Association of America), but was quickly rebranded as the National Basketball Association in 1950.
