20 Hardest Football Hardmen Of All Time

7. Paolo Montero

Paolo Montero earned himself a reputation as an €˜uncompromising hardman€™ and rightly so. During his spell with Juventus, his poor disciplinary record and rough tackling were prominent in a backline which was regarded the best in the world at the time. Montero was described as "fearsome, immovable and essential€ by team-mates during his time with the Old Lady, and won many honours during his spell in Turin, including 4 Serie A titles. To this day, Montero holds the record for most red cards by a single player, being sent-off a mind boggling 16 times, in a highly successful career which also saw the Uruguayan finish runners-up in the Champions League 3 times.
