1. Jon Jones vs. Dan Henderson
Event: UFC 151 UFC 151, the event that never happened. The only UFC event to have been cancelled. Ouch. Pride/Strikeforce legend Dan Henderson, no slouch over the years in the UFC as well, was lined up to face light heavyweight's quickly rising star champion, Jon Jones, back in 2012. Then with a week to go before the fight, news broke that Hendo had been injured in training. Dana White was livid, as Hendo was rumoured to have held off on reporting the injury, hoping to make the fight. Worse, UFC 151 was one of the weakest cards in UFC history. The co-headlining fight was Jake Ellenberger vs. Jay Hieron - not something anyone would pay to see on PPV. Chael Sonnen, ever the opportunist, offered to fight Jones on short notice - but Jones refused, on the advice of his coaching team. This despite the fact that Sonnen was a smaller fighter (naturally fighting at 185) who hadn't been training. Again, Dana White was livid. He went as far as to call Jones' coach Greg Jackson a "sport killer" - but in reality, it was his own damn fault for not loading up a better card. Injuries happen, and 2012 was one of the worst years for them. The event couldn't be saved, and with a week to go, was cancelled. UFC 152 would take place in Toronto the next month, and see Jones defend his belt against Vitor Belfort. Dan Henderson would come back only to go on a losing streak and never get his shot against the light heavyweight champion, disappointing us all.
