What I am doing is using it as an analogy for a bigger point: AVB is achieving things that previous Tottenham managers of recent years failed to achieve in longer stints in charge, and he's also finding success in places and methods that previous managers failed to find it. AVB has also got the best out of a certain Jermain Defoe - man who has largely been a peripheral figure or impact substitute in recent years, proving that he is capable of getting the most out of what he has. It's also nice to see that he can still get good results when forced to exclude injured players from the starting lineup and that he voluntarily rotates the team rather than sticking with the same eleven week in week out, meaning that he is making the most of a talented squad rather than burning out a tried and tested select eleven. Again, this is something that previous managers failed to do.
