5 Reasons Why Spurs Were Wrong To Sack Andre Villas-Boas

1. Who Are Spurs Going To Bring In Who Can Do Better Than AVB?

The problem now is who replaces the young Portuguese coach. The names that have been thrown into the ring so far are Guus Hiddink, Russia coach Fabio Capello and Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup. At the moment, there are faults with all three and from a personal level, AVB still seems the best option out of all four coaches. Hiddink is probably the best coach out of the current options, but having semi-retired after leaving his post at Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala back in July, and reportedly agreed to take over the Holland job after next year's World Cup finals, he is already out of the running. Laudrup meanwhile has stuttered badly this season as coach of Swansea after a terrific first campaign in charge of the Swans, and is unlikely to be a serious contender for Levy, whilst Capello is leading Russia to the World Cup in Brazil next year and is unlikely to want a move back to club management before then. Another name that has cropped up is former Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle, but he hasn't coached a side at all since leaving Wolves in 2006, and in his seven year absence, the game has moved on a lot and is probably out of his reach at this moment in time. Whilst the club search for a new boss, Tim Sherwood, who was part of AVB's coaching staff will take the reigns, and in doing so adds his name to the list of potential successors. However, none of these names are likely to inspire confidence in the fans, and at the moment, the best man for the job seems to be AVB..... Do you think AVB was harshly treated by Spurs? Can anyone else do better? Tell us what you think!
