6 Things Man Utd Fans Need To Know About Marcos Rojo

6. He Has A Track Record For Disciplinary Issues

As one might expect from a South American defender, Marcos Rojo is certainly fiery. Much like his new Manchester United teammate Rafael and former Chelsea star David Luiz, Rojo has a poor track record when it comes to disciplinary issues. In his last 49 league games for Sporting Lisbon, the defender was booked 21 times and sent off four times. This is a concern considering what United need most right now is composure at the back following the loss of captain and leader Nemanja Vidic. Another area of concern is that Rojo's disciplinary issues stretch beyond the field of play. At Sporting, when it became apparent the Red Devils were interested in signing him, he attempted to force through the move and reportedly refused to train for the Portuguese side, forcing his now former club to discipline him. 'Hot headed' is the best way to describe the occasionally wildcard defender, and while his passion certainly cannot be called into question, you do have to worry whether he will bring any of this baggage with him to the Premier League in 2014-15.
