Currently playing in the Regionalliga West, Alemannia Aachen did too much too soon, which resulted in financial difficulties. Following their promotion to the Bundesliga in 1967, Aachen have spent just four seasons in the top flight with the most recent being in 2006-2007 where they finished 17th. A new ‚50 million stadium (New Tivoli) was built with a long-term plan of staying in the Bundesliga.
