Barcelona presidential candidate Toni Freixa has approached Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti's agent in order to convince him sign for the Catalan side, according to ESPN. Agent Donato di Campli inisisted that his client was happy in the French capital but revealed there had been an approach from Barcelona Speaking to Italian media, Di Campli acknowledged there had been contact between with Barcelona presidential candidate Toni Freixa regarding the availability of Verratti, 22, should he be elected at the Camp Nou. He said: "With Freixa, we've never met each other, we have only talked on the phone. There is contact every day with a lot of people, but that doesn't mean anything. "Marco is absolutely clear. He feels good in Paris and has a long-term contract. If a club wants him, they have to contact Paris Saint-Germain, not us. "He would love to play for Barcelona, but PSG won't sell him." The 22-year-old established himself as one of the best central midfielders in Europe last season and played 39 times for PSG.
