Bayern Munich Set To Sign Juventus Midfielder

Arturo Vidal will sign for the Bundesliga Champions for around £26 million.

Bayern Munich are set to sign Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal subject to a medical, according to Sky Sports.

The fee for the Chilean's services is believed to be around £26 million with an additional £2 million offered in add-ons. The player is expected to join up with the German Champions within the next week. Vidal made 40 appearances for the Scudetto champions last season and scored 11 goals as well as helping his side to their first Champions League final since 2003. The 28-year-old learned his trade in Germany where he made 117 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen and mainly played as a defensive midfielder. This season Vidal has developed his attacking ability and was often used by Massimiliano Allegri in a more advanced role sitting just behind the strikers. Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge announced the deal speaking at Bayern's pre-season tour press conference in Guangzhou: "I can confirm that we have reached an agreement with both parties, Juventus and the player. "All that is lacking now is the medical and the signatures on the contract." The Chile captain joined Juventus in 2011 from Leverkusen, winning four consecutive Serie A titles.
