If reports are to believed, Matthias Ginter may be available for transfer this summer. And if that is indeed the case, Bayern Munich should be knocking down Borussia Mönchengladbach's door to try and get the 6'2" stopper signed up at the Allianz Arena.

A 2014 move to Munich's long-time rivals Borussia Dortmund didn't quite work out for the centre-back, but Ginter's move to Gladbach in 2017 has seen the player re-establish himself as one of the best defenders in the Bundesligia.

As an ageing Bayern squad looks to be revitalised with younger faces, 25-year-old Ginter is a logical fit for the Bavarian outfit.

With 26 Germany caps to his name, Matthias Ginter represents an experienced player in his prime years who would also help to lower the average age of manager Niko Kovac's squad.

Pairing Ginter with 23-year-old fellow Germany international Niklas Süle would give Bayern Munich a central defensive partnership that could help them to dominate German football for years to come.
