32. Alex Danson/Crista Cullen

Like many sports, however, hockey receives television coverage during the Olympics, and both the mens and womens teams started the tournament strongly, with both reaching the last four of their respective competitions. Both were eventually defeated in the semi-finals, however, as the previously unbeaten mens team were crushed 9-2 by Holland, whilst the womens team, led by the tournaments joint top scorers, Alex Danson and Crista Cullen, succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Argentina. Though the men fared little better in their bronze medal match against Australia, the womens side (captained by Kate Walsh, who played with a broken jaw) secured a medal with a 3-1 win over New Zealand, with Danson and Cullen each scoring their fifth and final goals of the competition on the way to what was Britains first medal in the sport since 1988. 31. Luol Deng
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o5WIRjKzDs Sport - Basketball With most peoples exposure limited to occasional game in a school PE lesson, basketball is hardly a popular game amongst the British masses. The national team only featured in the Olympics by virtue of Britain being the host nation and the men's team won only one of their five games, whilst the womens team managed no victories whatsoever. Of the twelve players selected for the mens team, only two play in the worlds elite league, the American National Basketball Association (NBA). These are Joel Freeland of the Portland Trail Blazers and the Sudanese-born captain of the British team, Luol Deng, who plays for the Chicago Red Bulls, a team known as the home of Michael Jordan for many years in the 1990s. Having played for the team since 2004, Deng has made a lucrative career of what is an obscure activity in his home country. Early 2012 saw him voted by his fellow players into the annual NBA All-Star game, which saw him join superstars such as the Miami Heats Lebron James and Dwyane Wade in the Eastern Conference team as they faced their Western Conference counterparts. Though only managing six minutes of the game due to injury, his inclusion in the team indicates the high regard in which he is held by his fellow professionals, whilst at just twenty seven years of age, he has many years left to reach even greater heights.
