20. Alastair Cook
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_Cxz5EDn-A Sport - Cricket Though cricket is considered dull by many, it has a core following in England, one of the few countries in the world, along with the likes of India and Australia, where its popularity is comparable to other mainstream sports. Becoming the latest captain of Englands test cricket team following the retirement of Andrew Strauss in August, Alastair Cook has added to his existing captaincy of the One Day International side. Recording four centuries (100 runs in a single innings) in his first four tests as captain has made records (several of which he already holds, such as being the youngest English player to ever make 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 test runs), and has contributed to sending him to the top of the list for all-time centuries by English players, just ahead of contemporary Kevin Pietersen and legend Geoff Boycott. His captaincy saw the team end the year, which hasnt been English crickets greatest, on a high, culminating in them winning a test series in India for the first time since 1985. With the Ashes series, in which England compete against Australia for crickets most prestigious prize, set to be contested once again in 2013, the in-form Cook is sure to play an important role. 19. Robert Huff
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dijb6BNt_I Sport - Touring Cars Whilst there has been a lack of British success in Formula One over the last three years, which has seen three straight championship victories for German driver Sebastian Vettel, Britain can compensate with another motorsport crown, the World Touring Car Championship, which was won in 2012 by Englishman Robert Huff, who won five races over the course of the season. Born in Cambridge in 1979, Huff agonisingly finished 3rd and 2nd respectively in the championship in 2010 and 2011 respectively, having driven for the Chevrolet team in the sport since 2005. Going one place better this year is an excellent swansong for Huffs team, who have announced their withdrawal from the championship, but the man himself will certainly not be short of offers by the beginning of the next season in 2013.
