Arsenal were without Robin van Persie, Andrei Arshavin, Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas, who been recently sold to Barcelona. Despite this, they were able to take the game to the Italians thanks to Theo Walcott. Udinese actually took an early lead thanks to an Antonio Di Natale header. Arsenal then rallied round and comfortably beat Udinese with Walcott capping off his excellent performance with the goal of the game. Theo passed the ball to Bacary Sagna before the French right back sent the ball forward. It was the England man's blitzing pace and excellent composure which allowed him to out pace Pablo Amero and chip the ball over the keeper to send Arsenal through the to group stages with a 3-1 aggregate win.
