Chelsea Transfer News: Victor Moses £10 Million Bid Rejected

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has reportedly shown his resolve and isn't willing to let his prized asset leave for Stamford Bridge without an astronomical offer.

Teamtalk. Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has reportedly shown his resolve and isn't willing to let his prized asset leave for Stamford Bridge without an astronomical offer despite Moses only having one year left to run on his contract at the DW Stadium. In six months he would be able to discuss a free transfer to any other club and Wigan would lose him for no money next summer so rejecting the offer was a brave move by the chairman. The 21-year-old former Crystal Palace forward has scored only eight league goals in three seasons at Wigan, though six of those did come last season and his overall performances have impressed Chelsea. They are in the market for some more attacking options after the departures of Nicolas Anelka, Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou over the past twelve months. They have already boosted their options with the signatures of Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, who can both play attacking midfield and wing roles but Moses would be yet another young option for Chelsea's attack next season as they attempt to defend their Champions League trophy and challenge for the league title.
