England 1-1 France: 5 Positives From A Hard-Earned Draw

4. They Kept Their Heads

The ITV commentary team seemed to be losing their heads at times as England struggled to get any decisions from the Italian match officials, but the players kept control of their tempers. That might not seem like a lot to ask of professionals doing their (highly-paid) job, but Rooney and Beckham - to name but two - have shown over the years how self-destructive England can be when things go against them. Ashley Young was booked for what you'd call a "forward's challenge" on Benzema, but otherwise England seemed in total control and were never remotely flustered, even as France dominated the match. Considering John Terry's senseless implosion against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final - with the former captain playing under extreme pressure - supporters can be very happy with how the defender handled himself.
