Portugal have never won the European Championship. They have been semi-finalists twice (1984 and 2000) and were runners up in 2004. They were defeated 3-1 by Turkey in Lisbon in a friendly just last week, warming up in the worst possible fashion. They have won just one of their last six matches and have failed to score in three of the last five. Star Performer: Cristiano Ronaldo Cristiano Ronaldo scored a jaw dropping 60 goals in 55 appearances for Real Madrid last season. Having a player with such a phenomenal strike rate will ensure Portugal will be competitive in Group B. Nani of Manchester United is also another player to keep an eye out for, as is Chelseas Raul Meireles, but they have little else going for them. At 28, Hugo Almeida isnt the player of old, and veteran defender Bruno Alves is now 30. Prediction: 3rd
