Argentinian midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron is mainly remembered by football fans on this part of the continent for his ill-fated stint at Manchester United after arriving as the most expensive player in British football history, managing to draw the ire of United captain Roy Keane, and then departing for Chelsea after just two seasons in Manchester.

However, despite his foray at Old Trafford Veron's heart belongs to a different northern club, Sheffield United.

The two-time South American Footballer of the Year revealed in a 2003 interview that his love of the team stems from the fact that his uncle, Pedro Verde, played for the Yorkshire club in the late '70s.
