Fantasy Premier League 19/20: 10 Season-Defining Moments
2. Sadio Mane's Double Gameweek Nightmare
Oh the horror. This was simply cruel and will be grumbled about for many years to come.
Setting the scene, Liverpool were absolutely on fire at this point in the season, having won 13 games in a row and were romping their way to the league title.
Having missed out on Gameweek 18 due to the Club World Cup, their match against West Ham was moved into Gameweek 24, setting up a tantalising Double Gameweek for the Reds as they faced Wolves and West Ham away.
Fantasy managers did their homework but there was little to choose between Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, with Mane in better form but Salah having the advantage of being on penalties.
The divide was almost even between who to captain, with thousands opting to put the armband on Mane, and a big chunk of those even deciding this was the time to use the Triple Captain chip.
Of course, in what may be one of the most brutal pieces of cruel luck in Fantasy Football history, Sadio Mane limped off after 32 minutes against Wolves with a hamstring injury. He scored one measly point and missed the following week’s game against West Ham too.
Salah meanwhile scored 16 points over the two games, 14 of those coming in the West Ham match. For those who Triple Captained Mane - in a perfectly logical move - they were left aghast as those who Triple Captained Salah saw a 45-point swing in their favour.
