Formula 1 2013 German Grand Prix - Sebastien Vettel Rings In Home Victory

Looking Ahead We now have a three-week break until the Hungarian Grand Prix, where teams will be working furiously to bring more updates with them. Also, on the 17th-19th of this month we have the young driver test at Silverstone, which is now so much more than that. A lot of development work will be done with race drivers, and teams will also be permitted to test new components, meaning they get three or possibly four days to develop their cars should a hinted extension to the 20th go ahead. This may help to put a new face on the order come the Hungaroring, and perhaps a new direction for the championship. After this weekend, Mercedes will be seeking to return to the form they found in Britain so as to take the race back to Red Bull. Red Bull will be seeking to stay at the sharp end and keep things going after Germany, while Lotus will be wanting to pin down how they can perform this well every race weekend from now on. Ferrari need to find qualifying pace and get back to the front after a couple of races off the top pace. McLaren, buoyed by their outing at the €˜ring, will want to keep that upswing of performance going in the right direction to get them back to where they should be. Sauber have found a direction in the last couple of races and will seek to make sure developments come with more impact now, getting them ahead of Williams and into contention with McLaren and Force India. The latter will wonder what happened this weekend and look to return to form as they maintain fifth in the championship, with Williams looking for much anything to get them further up the grid. After a disappointing weekend, Marussia will seek to get back ahead of Caterham, who have been winning the battle at the back for some races now since introducing new aero parts. Hungary is hard to predict, with a flowing, off-camber circuit that too often makes overtaking difficult. It has been the scene of plenty of first victories however, and perhaps we might see another one next weekend if someone like Di Resta or Grosjean could get in the groove.
