ICC Champions Trophy Final: 3 Key Battles

ICC_Champions_Trophy_2013_logo_svg The men have been separated from the boys. Eight teams have been whittled down to just two, for what is going to be a scintillating final this Sunday at Edgbaston. England will be looking to shed the disappointment of defeat in the 2004, when they threw away the Champions Trophy; in the final against West Indies. Whereas their opponents India, seek revenge for the drubbing they were handed by their hosts in 2011. Tournament hosts England thrashed South Africa in their semi-final at The Oval. Chasing just 175 to win; Jonathan Trott (82*) and Joe Root (48) starred for England with the bat after James Tredwell (3-19) had put in a man-of-the-match performance with the ball. Group B winners India continued their vein of form with a comfortable eight wicket win over their near-neighbours Sri Lanka in Cardiff. Sri Lanka were reduced to a paltry 181/8 off their allotted overs; before Shikhar Dhawan (68) stroked the Indians to victory at a canter.
