Having not played top-flight football until 2015, instead gaining vast first-team experience in the lower leagues with Sheffield United, Maguire played every minute of every Premier League game for Leicester City last season following a transfer from recently-relegated Hull City. As a result he claimed both the Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year awards and headed to Russia as a first-choice for England manager Gareth Southgate.

The faith placed in him by Southgate has been repaid tenfold as the 25-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable rise during the tournament. Initially perceived to be a potential weak link in the side's back line, he has gone on to become a cult hero due to his work at both ends of the field, forward thinking approach and enormous presence.

He's burst onto many top sides radar; Tottenham are allegedly keen on Maguire's services and Liverpool have been linked with a move for him, whilst Claude Puel apparently wants to build the Leicester side around him and offer him a new contract - all due to his transformation at this summer's tournament.
