John Carver WILL Be Newcastle United Head Coach Next Season

According to talkSPORT's Alan Brazil at least...

It's the news that will make each and every Newcastle United fan laugh and cry "bulls**t" this morning, but one more than high profile name from within the footballing media claims John Carver will be Newcastle United Head Coach next season. TalkSport's breakfast shift presenter Alan Brazil claims that the radio station's 'man in the North East' expects Carver to be given the job on a full time basis next season. https://twitter.com/SportsBreakfast/status/600177133378494464 Who this man in the North isn't exactly clear, it could be a taxi driver for all we know. But the fact that a man with a national reputation has taken to social media and put his reputation on the line means there must be something to this story; as ridiculous as it sounds. Carver's time in charge has been nothing short of an absolute disaster. The Geordie has won just two of his 19 games in charge and overseen a monumental slump down the Premier League table. Newcastle were 10th on New Year's Day on 27 points, a full 10 points ahead of the relegation zone. Five months later they find themselves on 36 points and just two points above the drop. Saturday's defeat at already relegated Queens Park Rangers means United head into the final game of the season hoping that Hull City fail to beat Manchester United to escape what seemed an improbable relegation when Alan Pardew left for Crystal Palace in January. Then again, they could just win the game at home to West Ham and put all doubt to bed... Surely Carver's results have ruled himself out of the running for the full time Head Coach's job. If he has been given the permanent role, it'll be a very long season for The Magpies next term, whatever division they are in.
