Liverpool Transfer News: Charlie Adam In Sensational Everton Switch

Is the Scot about to cross the city divide for just £5m?

Daily Mirror, Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam may be on the verge of becoming the first player to cross the Liverpool divide since Gary Ablett 20 years ago and for a knockdown price of just £5million, with compatriot David Moyes poised to make a sensational move to bring him to Everton. The report states that Moyes is in the market to replace Jack Rodwell who joined Manchester City earlier this week in a £15m move, and that the low asking price has attracted Moyes, whose brother Kenny is Adam's agent. Adams is available as Brendan Rodgers is offering his services around behind the scenes, as Adams is unlikely to start under the new boss despite having only joined the club a year ago for £9m. If Moyes were to land his man, it would come at the second attempt as he wanted Adam to join him at Everton from Blackpool before he was priced out of a move, though the Mirror suggests he is still wary of the signing, and is sounding out close confidantes about the likely public reaction to the move. The paper suggests that the player meanwhile would have no problem moving to Goodison Park. Liverpool are currently well-stocked in midfield, even after the sale of Alberto Aquilani, and are said to be close to a loan deal for Nuri Sahin to join new signing Joe Allen and Adams has attracted growing talk of a possible deal away from the club, especially after his absence from the starting teams in either of Liverpool's Europa League legs against FC Gomel. David Moyes meanwhile has lost both Jack Rodwell and Tim Cahill this summer after seeing Mikel Arteta move to Arsenal last season, and though he has picked up Steven Pienaar once again, his squad could do with some attacking creativity. What do you think Liverpool fans? Would you happily see Charlie Adam leave? And if so, would you be happy to see him join city rivals Everton? Share your thoughts below.
